Kiambu Nominated MCA Ezra Kabugi Kihara Dies in Car Accident

Ezra Kabugi Kihara, a nominated ward representative for Kiambu, tragically passed away in a devastating car accident on Sunday morning, September 22.

Kihara was driving from Nairobi towards Thika Town when his vehicle, a Subaru Forester, collided with the rear of an Isuzu FRR lorry along Thika Road, subsequently catching fire.

Eyewitness accounts and police reports indicate that he died on the spot, leaving the community in shock.

The collision occurred near Mang’u High School, and images from the scene depict the severity of the accident, with Kihara’s vehicle engulfed in flames.

While the cause of the fire remains unclear, investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the tragedy.

His body has been moved to Montezuma Funeral Home, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi expressed his condolences, describing Kihara as a “vibrant and promising young leader” whose dedication to the people of Kiambu was evident in all his undertakings.

“It is heartbreaking to lose such a young, dedicated legislator with so much promise for the future,” Wamatangi said in a statement.

He extended his heartfelt sympathies to Kihara’s family, friends, and the community during this challenging time.

Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Wamuratha also mourned the loss, sharing her devastation on social media.

“This tragic accident has left us devastated as we mourn the untimely loss of Hon. Ezra Kabuga Kihara. My deepest condolences go out to the Kiambu County Assembly and his loved ones,” she wrote, highlighting Kihara’s potential as a leader and the profound impact of his passing.
