A renewed spirit of collaboration between the Catholic Church and Kiambu County is taking shape following a courtesy call by Archbishop Philip Anyolo to Governor Kimani Wamatangi.
The two leaders met to explore ways the Church and county government can work together for the good of the local community, especially in areas like education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and moral formation.
This partnership comes at a time when the Catholic Church is making significant strides in expanding its presence in Kiambu.
Among the notable developments is the dedication and consecration of St. Paul Catholic Church in Gachororo, an outstation of St. Augustine Juja Parish.
The ceremony, led by Bishop Simon Peter Kamomoe, marked a spiritual milestone for a community whose journey began in 1987 with faithful gathering under the distant St. Teresa Kalimoni Parish.
Meanwhile, in May, Archbishop Anyolo blessed the Our Lady of Hope grotto at Holy Eucharist Kingeero Parish. During the event, he called on Christians to “pray the Rosary daily” and to support religious vocations, reminding the faithful that “the Church grows when the flock nurtures its shepherds.”
These events highlight the growing impact of faith-based institutions in shaping both the spiritual and social landscape of Kiambu.
