Two people have been arrested in Kiambu County after being caught with illegal brew.
The two suspects were operating an illegal distillery from a rented house in Mugutha village, Juja Constituency.
According to police, 70 litres of ethanol were recovered from the two, who are accused of supplying alcoholic beverages to popular joints along Ruiru’s Eastern Bypass.
“From the suspects, we also recovered fake Kenya Revenue Authority stamps and distilling apparatus,” Kiambu County Police Commander Muchangi Kioi said.
He also urged the public to report such incidents to authorities in order to eradicate the sale of illegal brew in the area.
