Wiper Movement has ‘moved’ to declare Jackson Ngechu Kimotho Makini, commonly known as Prezzo, as their preferred candidate for Kibra Parliamentary seat.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who unveiled the rapper in a press briefing, expressed his confidence in Prezzo’s ability to lead Kibra to the next level.
Prezzo is a self-proclaimed businessman, taking up his father’s Makini Herbal Clinic. From time to time, the ‘Naleta Action’ rapper has been dragged into suspicions of being a drug trafficker, owing to his wealth, a claim that he has refuted.
He appeared on a dossier by Professor George Sitoti in a drug trafficking investigation. Prezzo was also questioned extensively by the police on suspicions he was linked to the narcotics ring that enjoyed impunity.
Prezzo’s close relations with Kabogo drew the major lines and leads for investigators. He naturally denied allegations; there was no evidence gathered to tie him down just like the rest of the suspects.
In 2013, Prezzo was linked to a wanted drug trafficker in Mombasa, after a photo was shared of him posing with one Richard Wachira, who was later arrested for drug possession.
This was his reply
“I have never been involved in drug trafficking business, I take many pictures with friends and my fans,” he argued.
Way back in 2016, In an interview on KTN Weekend Prime, Prezzo claimed that he was a President to the youth and that many people told him that. The controversial rapper later admitted being a ‘corporate thug’.
Adding to the fact that Prezzo has not grown in Kibra, critics say that these new faces will see dust.
“These superstars who think they can just walk into any place and declare leadership, have not met the Kenyan voter.” – One Kibera resident cautioned.
