A Catholic Priest who had been reported missing seven days ago has been found dead and buried in a shallow grave in Makima, Embu County.
The late Father Michael Maingi Kyengo’s body was found buried in a shallow grave at the banks of a river in Makima. The Detectives working on the kidnap case said that a suspect in Police custody revealed the scene to the police.
The body was exhumed and taken to the mortuary for post morterm to determine the cause of the death, while the police sought to investigate the motive of the murder.
“We want to exhume the body of the priest for an examination so that the truth of the matter can be established. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has also launched investigations to expose the killers and the motive behind the heinous act,” said Embu County Police Commander, Daniel Rukanga.
The deceased Father was last seen in Thatha Parish in Machakos on October 8.
