MPs from both political factions have supported the ongoing bi-partisan talks aimed at addressing crucial issues affecting the country.
The committee which includes both Azimio and Kenya Kwanza legislators was formed following a series of streets protests and demonstrations that were called by the Azimio coalition over the high cost of living and calls for reforms at the Independent, Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) among a raft of other demands to the government.
The MPs led by Eldama Ravine MP Musa Sirma said it was time that political differences are cleared and that the country should be moving forward.
He called on opposition leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto to make all efforts in uniting the country.
“We have faith in the talks aimed at bringing sanity in the political field and making Kenya move. We are optimistic that at the end, we shall have a long-lasting solution to our challenges,” he said.
His sentiments were echoed by Dagoret North MP Beatrice Elachi who inclined her faith in the talks and asked Kenyans to be patient.
Ms Elachi said the talks are timely coming at a time when the country was witnessing demos and political differences affecting Kenyans.
Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda also praised the bi-partisan talks and assured Kenyans that they will bring good results in the end.
He said the county at the moment needs an all-inclusive approach while addressing the challenges facing Kenyans.
“I am hopeful that at the end, these talks will end the political challenges we have witnessed as a country. We want to forge ahead with development,” he said.
The MPs spoke in Rabai constituency, Kilifi county where they accompanied area MP Kenga Mupe.
