North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has sent a heartfelt birthday message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, referring to him as his “closest comrade” as Putin marked his 72nd birthday.

In the message, Kim expressed confidence that the relationship between their two nations would reach new heights.

The North Korean leader emphasized the “invincible and eternal” bond between Moscow and Pyongyang, which has strengthened since the onset of the Ukraine war.

Kim highlighted that recent meetings and growing ties between the two countries would help solidify the long-standing DPRK-Russia friendship.

This relationship, which dates back to the Soviet Union’s support of North Korea, has become a focal point of global concern.

Kim has been accused of supplying Russia with weapons to aid in its war in Ukraine in exchange for economic and technological assistance.

There are reports that Russia has deployed North Korean missiles in Ukraine, further raising tensions.

Meanwhile, Kim reiterated his country’s commitment to becoming a military superpower, advancing its nuclear capabilities.

South Korean intelligence has also detected possible signs that North Korea is building a nuclear-powered submarine, adding to the escalating global anxieties surrounding Pyongyang’s military ambitions.
