Kimani Ichugwah Meets British High Commissioner To Kenya Jane Marriot

Leader of the Majority in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah on Thursday met with the British High Commissioner to Kenya Jane Marriot in Parliament.

According to the Kikuyu MP, they discussed the country’s prevailing political situation and the nation’s stability.

“During the cordial meeting, I assured Ms. Marriot of Kenya Kwanza’s commitment to diffusing the political tensions and following through with President William Ruto’s directive to engage in bipartisan talks with the opposition in the reconstitution of the electoral commission IEBC,” he said in a social media post.

Ichug’wah also reiterated Kenya Kwanza’s readiness and willingness to ensure that the country remains stable.

On her part, Ms. Marriot expressed her concerns about the prevailing political situation and urged for sanity and reason to prevail to ensure the country remains stable in East Africa and the Africa League of Nations.

“Kenya Kwanza remains committed to promoting unity and stability in the country, and the meeting with the British High Commission’s representative is a testament to this commitment,” he added.
