Kimani Ngunjiri has lost the Bahati Constituency Parliamentary seat to an Azimio candidate.
The outspoken lawmaker, who was running for office on the UDA ticket, received 26,809 votes but came in second to Jubilee’s Irene Njoki, who received 34,308 votes to win.
The DP William Ruto ally was running for re-election in Bahati on a UDA ticket.
Kimani Ngunjiri is one of Kenya’s most well-known and powerful politicians, particularly among the Kikuyu community.
Njoki, who was running for political office for the first time, expressed her happiness and her desire to diligently serve the citizens of the Bahati Constituency.
