A couple and their son died in a fatal road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway in Kimende town, Kiambu county, when the vehicle they were traveling in collided head-on with a lorry.
Another couple and their two sons were seriously injured in the accident and are being treated at AIC Kijabe Hospital in Lari sub-county.
Before the accident, the seven family members were on their way to Nairobi from a family gathering in Molo, Nakuru County.
Lari sub-county police commander Adamson Furaha confirmed the incident, saying that the lorry’s driver fled shortly after the accident, and that a manhunt has since been launched.
He went on to say that investigations have been launched to figure out what caused the horrific accident.
