Kenyan-born, US-based artist King Kanja is set to release a new single titled “Daima Mkenya” on June 1, 2026, in commemoration of Madaraka Day.

The release comes at a time when the country remembers key moment in its history; self-governance and national identity, with the song reflecting themes of unity, pride and what it means to be Kenyan.

The project, developed in collaboration with the Daima Mkenya clothing brand, focuses on cultural identity and shared heritage. Its music video was filmed at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, a symbolic national landmark often associated with major state events.

According to details around the project, the track blends contemporary African sounds and features contributions from artists including Karun, with production by Run Music.

The release will also be accompanied by a limited clothing line tied to the same theme, aligning kenyan music and fashion within a broader expression of national pride.

“Daima Mkenya” is expected to be distributed across major digital platforms, reaching audiences both locally and internationally.

The song will be released globally on June 1, 2026, as Kenyans celebrate Madaraka Day.
