Three alleged thugs are in critical condition in a Kiambu hospital after being attacked by an enraged mob in Kinoo, Kiambu County.
Police officers saved Topla Muteti, Kelvin Kamau, and Erick Karanja, all of whom were between the ages of 21 and 22.
The three had robbed a woman on her way home of her valuables before raising an alarm, drawing the attention of boda boda riders.
Following the incident, the trio rode off on a red motorcycle, forcing the boda boda riders to chase them down at full speed.
According to the police report, the thugs were pursued by roughly 30 motorcycles.
The enraged bodaboda riders cornered one of the thugs who had jumped from the escape bike as the culprits approached stage 87.
Meanwhile, the ill fated bike wobbled for a few metres and landed in a ditch, leaving the miscreants at the mercy of the irate motorbike riders.
Police officers from Kinoo Police station responded to the commotion and saved the lives of the three, who were found in possession of a home made firearm capable of firing.
The thugs are admitted at a hospital in Wangige, Kiambu county.
Meanwhile, the motorbike used by the thugs registration number KMFH 382L, remains in police custody as detectives launch investigations into the crime.
