Girl, 17, Stabs Her Father To Death Over Food

Kirinyaga County police have arrested a 17-year-old girl for allegedly killing her father at Ndindiruku village in Mwea East sub-county.

According to Mwea East sub-county police commander Daniel Kitavi, the incident occurred over the weekend when the form two student refused to serve her father food because her mother was not present.

According to the police chief, the deceased, Justus Mutiso, arrived home around 10.30 p.m. drunk and began demanding food from the girl, but she refused as her mother was attending a night church (Kesha).

Kitavi stated that after the confusion, the girl decided to go look for her mother, who was 500 meters away at a church.

The man was well served when her mother arrived, but he was perplexed as to why her daughter refused to serve him food.

As a result, he attacked her, and the girl stabbed him.

Mutiso passed away while receiving treatment at the Kimbimbi sub-county hospital.

Kiarukungu location Chief Henry Kariuki stated that this is the first incident in the area since he was employed.

“We managed to recover the kitchen knife she used to kill her father,” Kariuki said.

The 17-year-old girl is being held at the Wang’uru police station as investigations commence.

She will be arraigned in Wang’uru law court after the investigations are completed.
