Nominated Kirinyaga MCA Lucy Njeri is in profound sorrow following the tragic murder of her only daughter, Seth Njeri, whose lifeless body was discovered in a rented room at Biafra estate, Thika, on October 14, 2024.
The 23-year-old was found by her close friend, Favour Mwende, leading to a rapid police response.
Authorities reported that Seth had visible injuries on her neck.
“I saw visible injuries on the neck; it was horrible to see that,” lamented Lucy Njeri in an interview with Citizen TV. Preliminary investigations indicated that Seth had been strangled, and police believe that she was sexually assaulted before the crime was committed.
Investigators are focusing on a male friend who reportedly felt aggrieved after his breakup with Seth. There is a suspicion that he tracked her down, seduced her, and ultimately murdered her.
However, Seth’s family has dismissed this theory, suggesting that the friend she was visiting may hold critical information regarding the circumstances of her death.
Detectives have recorded statements from the female friend present with Seth on that fateful day as part of their ongoing investigation. Thika sub-county police commander Lawrence Muchangi affirmed that the investigation is being taken seriously, and efforts to bring the culprits to justice are underway.
