The battle waged against Waiguru in Kirinyaga has entered “phase 2” after MCAs slashed her legal fees from 60 Million to 1 million.
The war, proven to be as a result of a failed impeachment motion against the governor, has seen a zero budget allocation proposal to her deputy was defied.
Instead, a Ksh.15.6million budget allocation to the office of Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri was approved.
Other controversial allocations included a Ksh. 1million allocation to Kirinyaga County Secretary Joe Muriuki, to whom Waiguru had recommended Ksh. 111 Million.
Joe Muriuki, who testified before the Cleophas Malala led committee, claimed that the MCAs impeachment motion was clouded in political wrangles.
Waiguru survived the impeachment motion by the MCAs, who accused her of abusing her office, and meddling in county procurement processes.
The MCAs rubbished the Senate Committee ruling, alledging that the process was already pre determined.
Despite Waiguru extending an olive branch to the MCAs in an effort to avoid confrontation, the MCAs vowed to regroup and eject the governor from her office.
