An elderly patient at Bosongo Hospital is counting his blessings after a chilling attempt to kill him was stopped just in time—thanks to a sharp-eyed medical intern and a twist of fate.

According to a report by Citizen TV, Jacob Moseti, 82, was lying in the male ward when two strange men entered, allegedly carrying a loaded insulin syringe.

Police say the men offered a Ksh10,000 bribe to an intern to record him administering the deadly dose. The intern, shocked and suspicious, played along before tipping off hospital staff.

Their hesitation and the presence of alert personnel foiled the murder bid.

Investigators later arrested the two suspects, who led police to a 25-year-old community health nurse, Fiona Mogere.

She is accused of supplying the syringe and was found in possession of a pesticide, sparking concerns she may have planned to take her own life.

Police are probing claims the attack was linked to a family feud. Moseti, frail but grateful, says, “God saved me.”
