Kisii police are holding a Kisii University student who was found with several rolls of bhang.
During a search of Kibiego Kiprop’s rental house outside the campus in the Nyamage area on Wednesday night, police discovered at least 37 rolls of the drug.
Three other students who are suspected of being his accomplices are on the run.
The agricultural extension studies student will be arraigned on Friday, according to police.
According to Area assistant chief Sara Mokua, they acted on a tip-off before conducting a raid.
The incident occurs just one day after university Chaplain Lawrence Nyaanga warned of an increase in criminal activity on campus.
Nyaanga, speaking to journalists at the Campus on Wednesday evening, urged security personnel to be on the lookout for elements causing lawlessness in the Mwembe and Nyamage areas.
