KISUMU POLICE RECOVER STOLEN GOODS, TWO ARRESTED IN SUCCESSFUL OPERATION

    In a major blow for the offence – police in Kisumu say that have made a breakthrough in investigations related to recent theft in Kondele following the arrest of two suspects who received and distributed property stolen.

    Fredric Oduor Obonyo aged 36, and Eric Wesonga Wamere were arrested in a swift intelligence –led operation at the KECOC –RE estate in Lolwe where several items believed to be proceeds of crime were seized. A number of household items believed to have been stolen during a series of nearby break and enters were also seized.

    Some of the items recovered were as follows:

    • Three smart TVs — a Bruhm 55″, LG 50″ and Hisense 50″

    • A sony and Rhm sound systems with square system speakers

    • Several DSTV recorders                            

    • An iPhone, Huawei and Infinix mobile phones,including other valuables

    This caused worry among many in the community with a recent rise in such thefts, and it is a welcome break to have these goods recovered. Police are now trying to reunite victims with their property, and the identification process is already in progress.

    Due to the quick response from local law enforcement and assistance from residents, the suspects were booked at Kondele police station for further investigations. On the other hand, it has also brought a reassured hope for
