A Kisumu court has charged a middle-aged woman named Jackeline Anyango for allegedly strangling her neighbor with a bra.
Anyango assaulted Vivian Adhiambo on June 25 in Obunga, Kisumu County, by hitting her on the neck and strangling her with a bra, according to Chief Magistrate Peter Gesora.
She was charged with malicious injury to property in violation of section 339(1) of the penal code, as well as deliberately and unlawfully damaging a radio and a chair believed to be Vivian Adhiambo’s property.
In her defense, she claimed that the complainant threatened her, saying that she would spend all of her money to ensure that she was imprisoned.
“She warned me she had a lot of money and she will make sure I get arrested,” Anyango claimed.
The magistrate ordered her to be released on a ksh30,000 bond and adjourned the case until September 21.
