Kitui Bishop Opens Picturesque St. Andrews Catholic Parish in Kwa Vonza

Kitui Governor H.E. Dr. Julius Makau Malombe on Sunday joined hundreds of congregants for the official opening and dedication of the newly built St. Andrews Catholic Parish in Kwa Vonza.

The Ksh 32 million architectural masterpiece was formally declared open by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kitui, Rt. Rev. Joseph Mwongela, who hailed the church as one of the most outstanding cathedrals in East and Central Africa.

Governor Malombe commended the parishioners, church leadership, and local community for their collaboration and commitment in completing the sanctuary.

“The church remains a cornerstone of morality, peace, and community development. This edifice will serve generations to come, both as a spiritual and cultural landmark,” he noted.

The governor emphasized the importance of collaboration between the church and county leadership, especially in uplifting the moral and socio-economic standards of the people of Kitui.

The event was marked by joyful singing, blessings, and a solemn dedication ceremony, as the faithful filled the new sanctuary to capacity, giving thanks for a dream long realized.
