The sibling rivalry between Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and the former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana over the control of Ukambani politics is worsening.
Prof. Kivutha accused Kalonzo of enslaving the Kamba community, and he will be answerable to God.

He accused the former Vice President of gatekeeping and barring democracy.
“He will ask: Why did you bar Wiper leaders from working with the Government of the Day and not provide alternative sustenance.”
The two-term governor won the seat on a Muungano Party ticket despite Makueni being a wiper party region.
Why county #017 (Makueni) ditched Wiper party
Prof. Kibwana became the first governor of Makueni County, despite his non-affiliation with the dominant Wiper Democratic Movement.
The dilemma led to strained relations between the governor and MCAs. So bad was the relations, Kibwana wanted Makueni county dissolved.
However, then President Uhuru Kenyatta saved the county and through Kalonzo, work begun in transforming Makueni.
On his two terms in office, Prof. Kibwana introduced an efficient medical cover, the MakueniCare, and set up a fruit processing plant to tap into the mango-rich region.
There is also a milk processing plant that packages produce from farmers and sells it to outlets in Wote and nearby towns, among other things.
These initiatives put Prof. Kibwana on the map as a visionary within the region, and earned him a second term as governor.
Knowing his time is almost done, Prof. Kibwana announced he will be competing for the Presidency… a bid many felt was good but not good.
However, as expected, Kibwana dropped the ball and decided to back Raila Odinga, with his key focus being uniting the kamba region.
Then came the polls… and Ruto emerged victorious. Raila Odinga rejected the results and announced he would go to court.
Prof. Kibwana had enough.
In August 2022, Kibwana joined President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
His move was seen by many as greed and haste to align with power.
Kibwana would form part of the legal team in defending President Ruto’s win.
When Ruto verified his win, Kibwana retreated back to social media.. using his platform to constantly torment Kalonzo.
Prof Kibwana had earlier compared Kalonzo to Chief Kasina of colonial times, who used his position to largely lobby for self, family and a few friends.
Kalonzo has unsuccessfully backed Raila for the presidency three times.
