French outlet Le10 Sport, cited by the Mirror, have claimed that Klopp reached out to the Paris Saint-Germain superstar’s dad to try and persuade Mbappe into joining the Reds.

The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield in the past but ahead of the coronavirus pandemic it had been heavily reported that the World Cup winner was on the cusp of completing a switch to Real Madrid.

Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, huge sums around the £250m mark were mooted for Mbappe, but the market has become distorted amid and big name stars could now be valued for less.

The report claims the Reds are in the market for a huge name, should Senegalese talisman Sadio Mane depart for greener pastures.
