Klopp Settled at Red Bull Despite Real Madrid Rumours

Jurgen Klopp has no immediate plans to return to management, despite growing speculation linking him to Real Madrid following their Champions League quarter-final exit to Arsenal.

Currently serving as Red Bull’s Global Head of Soccer—a role he took up in January—Klopp oversees the company’s football operations across several clubs, including RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, and Brazil’s Bragantino.

The rumours gained traction as uncertainty looms over Carlo Ancelotti’s future at the Bernabeu. However, Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, moved quickly to dismiss the reports, stating the former Liverpool manager is fully committed to his new position.

“Jurgen is very happy with his role at Red Bull,” Kosicke told Sky Deutschland, affirming that the 57-year-old is not considering a coaching comeback anytime soon.

RB Leipzig’s head coach Zsolt Löw also weighed in, saying he couldn’t picture Klopp at Real Madrid right now. “He’s doing a great job here. His experience, charisma, and ability to unite teams have had a huge impact,” Löw said.

Klopp, known for his long-term loyalty to clubs like Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool, has consistently chosen to leave on his own terms, a rarity in top-tier coaching.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso—also linked to the Madrid job—remained tight-lipped, saying it’s “not the right moment” to discuss his future.

As of now, Klopp appears focused on shaping the future of football from behind the scenes rather than making a swift return to the touchline.
