Three people among them two police officers and a Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) official have been reported missing after a boat capsized in Lake Victoria around midnight on Friday.
The trio are Sergeant Anderson Wendot, Police Constable Onesmus Githinji and KRA staff member Joseph Jillo who was captaining the boat when the incident occurred.
According to a police report, the three were part of a platoon of eight officers drawn from the National Police Service, Marine Police, Administration Police (AP) and KRA who were conducting a joint operation around the lake when the boat capsized about 200 metres from Mugabo Beach at around 0020 hours.
