Spanish construction firm Centunion is undertaking drainage works on the long overdue Tmall over-pass that has been seen as a solution to bypass the congested roundabout. – By Gerald Gekara.
With safety walls already in place along the project’s mandate, the Ksh. 3 Billion road will ease pressure and the need for vehicles to navigate the roundabout while heading to the city center and vice versa.
The project is being implemented under the EPC/Turnkey Contract framework and was signed between KeNHA and the Contractor.
CENTUNION says a wealth of experience is needed to design, supply, and erect the modular steel bridges and it believes its existing projects in South America, Asia, and Africa are proof of their ability.
The project is said to be complete in 36-months and will go along way in boosting co-operation between the government of Kenya and its Spanish counterpart.
KeNHA added that the project will ensure safe and reliable crossing for pedestrians while reducing traffic congestion and vehicle crashes at the target locations.
To implement these, a string of footbridges will be set up at the T-Mall Flyover on Lang’ata Road, Mbagathi Way and at Nyayo Stadium.
