The Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) Holdings Ltd has appointed Eng. Francis Miano as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer, effective Friday, 16 January 2026.
In a notice dated January 16, the appointment was made following the departure of Wilson Muthaura.
“The Board of Kenya Tea Development Agency Holdings Ltd has appointed Eng. Francis Miano as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer, effective Friday, 16 January 2026,” read the notice.
According to the Board Chairman, Chege Kirundi, Eng. Miano, a registered professional engineer and corporate member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya, brings over 30 years of experience to the role.
He previously served as head of the Group Technical Services Division at KTDA, giving him extensive institutional knowledge of the organisation’s operations.
The appointment comes as Muthaura proceeds on terminal leave, marking the end of his five-year tenure as KTDA’s Group CEO.
The KTDA Board expressed appreciation for Muthaura’s service, acknowledging his contributions to the agency’s growth and wishing him well in his future endeavours
“The Board expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr. Muthaura for his dedicated service to the organisation and wishes him well in his future endeavours,” read the notice.
Engineer Miano previously worked as the General Manger of KTDA.
KTDA Holdings oversees the management of Kenya’s smallholder tea sector and plays a central role in tea processing, marketing, and related services across the country.
