KTDA Fires Eight Senior Leaders Over Botched Takeover

Farmers have already made the decision not to let the previous administration, which mismanaged their money, back into the office, according to Ichoho.

Eight senior employees are believed to have conspired with recently hatched comeback schemes by former directors, according to the Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA), which has fired them.

The decision was made by the company’s chairman, David Ichoho, shortly after a group that was deposed from power by farmers last year stormed the KTDA headquarters and several factories in an effort to seize control forcibly.

Farmers have already made the decision not to let the previous administration, which mismanaged their money, back into the office, according to Ichoho.

Ichoho briefed reporters in Ruiru after presiding over a meeting of the KTDA directors of six tea plants in Zone One, Kiambu County.

The meeting, which was attended by Gatundu South MP GG Kagombe, designated persona non grata to members of the group that farmers had removed from office.

Kagombe promised that he and other recently elected MPs would work to stop opportunistic cartels from undermining the interests of farmers. Kagombe is also the director of the Ndarugu and Theta Tea companies.
