The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has asked higher learning institutions to submit their available courses and admission capacities as it begins preparations for the 2025 student placement cycle.
In a statement on Wednesday, October 8, and addressed to Vice-Chancellors and Principals of University Colleges, KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome directed institutions to upload their academic programmes through the online KUCCPS placement system.
The process, known as the Declaration of Programmes and Capacities, forms the foundation for matching students from the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) class and previous candidates to various universities and colleges.
“Please note that the declared programmes must be those currently offered by your institution and duly accredited by the Commission for University Education (CUE), or by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) in the case of TVET programmes,” she said.
In addition to universities, KUCCPS has issued similar communication to Principals of National Polytechnics, Technical and Vocational Colleges, Technical Training Institutes, Institutes of Technology, and Secondary Teacher Training Colleges.
The agency has also reached out to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), requesting it to submit its approved programmes and available slots for inclusion in the KUCCPS online placement system.
Wahome further confirmed that the Kenya School of Law has been included in this year’s placement preparations following the successful listing of its Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies) programme, which was fully subscribed after being offered through KUCCPS for the first time.
The declaration period for institutions to submit their courses and capacities began on Monday, October 6, and will continue until Thursday, October 31.
A total of 996,078 candidates have registered for KCSE this year, while 1,298,089 candidates will sit for KPSEA.
