The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has closed Nyeri Road in the Up-market of Kileleshwa in Nairobi for four days.
The notice that has been in circulation states that road works will begin on Thursday, March 31 from 6 a.m to April 3.
“We wish to alert the general public that there will be traffic disruption along Nyeri Road from 6.00 am on Thursday, March 31 to Sunday, April 3 at 6.00 pm,” the statement read.
The authority explained that the main purpose of the closure is to give enough time for the road to be rehabilitated and a culvert to be installed.
All road users have been urged to stay off this road and use alternative routes during the temporary closure until the exercise is completed.
“We apologize for any inconveniences that may be caused as we endeavor to enhance urban mobility.”
The new development falls in line with the plan by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS), working in conjunction with KURA, to improve the state of roads in the city.
