PSG ‘Cant Keep Up’ With Mbappe Counter-Offer

According to ESPN, Paris Saint-Germain has given up on keeping Kylian Mbappe next season and expects the forward to announce a move to Real Madrid soon.

There are a few details to iron out between Mbappe’s lawyer and LaLiga champions Madrid, but nothing that would prevent the deal from going through, according to sources.

PSG were confident in Mbappe’s future as recently as last week, according to sources, and tried everything they could to persuade the 23-year-old, who was named Ligue 1 player of the season for the third year in a row by his peers, to stay at the Parc des Princes after five years.

According to sources, they offered Mbappe a massive new contract, promising him a better squad for next season, the captain’s armband, and 100 percent ownership of his own image.

It was never about money for Mbappe, who is having the best season of his career with 25 goals and 17 assists in 34 Ligue 1 matches, according to sources. His dream has always been to play for Real Madrid, and there is a feeling in Paris right now that he will realize his ambition.

Mbappe said on Monday that he is “almost” ready to reveal where he will play next season, despite Real Madrid’s pursuit of his signature.
