A multi-agency team in Laikipia County has recovered livestock that had been stolen from a homestead in Loniek Area within Kirima Sub-county.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the recovery was made after a heavy exchange of gunfire when the security team came into contact with the cattle rustlers at Chapelonin Area in Tiaty.
The livestock including 9 cows and 18 goats have since been returned to the owner in the Loniek area.
“Police remains committed to the fight against banditry and cattle rustling in the country and ensuring lasting peace in the affected areas,” the NPS said.
