Motorists plying the Lang’ata Road have been cautioned against speeding through the Tmall construction sites.
The contractor CENTUNION, has urged road users to observe laid out traffic management systems in place to avoid unnecessary accidents witnessed as the construction takes shape.
Speed bumps have been erected towards the Tmall decent to reduce motorists speeding into the roundabout, while proper signage guides motorists on areas with construction workers.
Sections of the busy highway have been narrowed to single-lane carriages in a bid to provide enough safety to engineers working on the site.
The Ksh. 3 billion roads will relieve pressure and the requirement for vehicles to navigate the roundabout while traveling to the city center and vice versa, thanks to safety walls currently in place along with the project’s mandate.
The project is being carried out under the framework of an EPC/Turnkey Contract, which was signed between KeNHA and the Contractor.
The project is expected to be completed in 36 months and will help to strengthen cooperation between the Kenyan and Spanish governments.
