Alarm As Family Disputes Rise In Nyahururu

Speaking in Nyahururu town, advocate Kinyua Njogu stated that they are attempting to develop a hypothesis to explain the increase in cases.

Advocates in Nyahururu have expressed concern about the growing number of cases involving land and children in the region.

During the launch of the legal awareness week, the advocates stated that the cases in which they have regularly provided legal representation are those involving land fraud, succession, and children.

Speaking in Nyahururu town, advocate Kinyua Njogu stated that they are attempting to develop a hypothesis to explain the increase in cases.

“This week is legal awareness week.” The Law Society of Kenya is organizing a nationwide campaign (LSK). Members of the public are welcome to make any legal inquiries.

We know there are many cases involving land and children, but as we continue to serve the public, we will learn about any other cases they may be involved in. “We are only providing legal advice and opinions, but we are not handling any court matters or court proceedings during legal awareness week,” Kinyua explained.

The advocates stated that during the awareness campaign, they will only provide references or advice to people involved in cases about how they can be helped, but they will not provide legal representation.

On Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Advocate Joyce Mwaniki stated that advocates would appreciate it if minor issues were resolved outside of court and cases that couldn’t be resolved outside of court were left to advocates.

According to her, the issue of delayed court cases will be resolved as the number of courts increases, as will the number of judicial staff.
