Bungoma businessman and politician, Lendrix Waswa, has dropped out of the Bungoma senatorial race, putting his support behind Ford Kenya’s David Wafula Wakoli.
Waswa stated that he made the decision following extensive consultation with various stakeholders. Wafula Wakoli believes the Ford Kenya party will win the election.
“After wide consultation with My Party Leader and Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Moses Wetang’ula, My Family and friends I have this morning shelved my ambition in bid to support one Ford Kenya Party Candidate Hon. Wafula Wakoli,” he said.
“I, therefore, urge my supporters countywide to rally behind our fellow Youth and Vibrant Candidate that we had same vision to transform the great County of Bungoma,” he added.
The seat became vacant after its senator, Moses Wetangula, was elected Speaker of the National Assembly.
Wetangula then endorsed his long-serving personal assistant Wafula Wakoli.
