DPP Withdraws Move To Drop Lenolkulal Graft Charges

The ODPP had filed an application to withdraw the said charges stating a lack of evidence to prosecute the case and hence sought to withdraw the matter before the court.

The Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) through Deputy DPP Alexander Muteti has approached the Anti-corruption Court this morning seeking to withdraw their own earlier filed application to withdraw the graft charges facing former Samburu Governor, Moses Lenolkulal.

The ODPP had filed an application to withdraw the said charges stating a lack of evidence to prosecute the case and hence sought to withdraw the matter before the court.

This was a move which saw the prosecution office receive vehement attacks from the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

Just one day after the LSK threatened to hold Noordin Haji accountable for the unpredictable withdrawal of the graft cases involving prominent CS nominees, Alexander Muteti told the trial magistrate Nzioki that he has received instructions to withdraw the application of acquittal for the said former governor and proceed with the hearing as earlier on scheduled.
