Golden Globes Nominations: DiCaprio's 'One Battle After Another' Leads with Nine Nods

Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest film, One Battle After Another, surged to the front of Hollywood’s awards race on Monday, earning a leading nine Golden Globe nominations.

The drama, centered on the kidnapping of a former revolutionary’s daughter, secured a nod for Best Musical/Comedy Motion Picture, while DiCaprio and his co-stars Sean Penn, Teyana Taylor, Benicio Del Toro, and Chase Infiniti all received acting nominations.

Close behind with eight nominations was the multi-language family drama Sentimental Value. Other notable acting contenders include Dwayne Johnson, Timothée Chalamet, and Wicked: For Good stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, though the Wicked sequel surprisingly missed a Best Picture nomination despite its box office success.

The Globes also spotlighted a strong year for international cinema, with nominations for Norway’s Sentimental Value, Iran’s It Was Just An Accident by Jafar Panahi, and Palme d’Or winner The Secret Agent, among others.

Other highlights include Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley recognized for Hamnet, Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme, George Clooney for his 14th career Globe nod in Jay Kelly, and Emma Stone for the black comedy Bugonia.

The winners will be announced at the ceremony in Los Angeles on January 11, setting a critical tone for the Oscars campaign season.
