Leroy Sane Joins Galatasaray on Free Transfer from Bayern Munich

Germany international Leroy Sane has completed a move to Turkish champions Galatasaray on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, the club confirmed on Thursday.

The 29-year-old winger has signed a three-year contract with the Istanbul-based side, securing an annual salary of €9 million ($10.4 million), along with an additional €3 million per season as a loyalty bonus, according to a statement from the club.

Speaking after his arrival, Sane expressed enthusiasm about the new chapter in his career: “I’ve played here before. There was an incredible atmosphere. Honestly, the fans were very loud. Now that they’re behind me, I’m very happy, and I’m very excited to play my first match here.”

Sane joins Galatasaray after four successful seasons at Bayern Munich, where he won four Bundesliga titles and played a key role in last season’s campaign, scoring 13 goals in all competitions as Bayern reclaimed the title from Bayer Leverkusen.

Before his stint in Germany, Sane played for Manchester City, where he lifted the Premier League trophy twice. He has earned 70 caps for the German national team and is widely regarded for his pace, technical skill, and attacking flair.

Galatasaray fans are hopeful the experienced winger will bolster the club’s European and domestic ambitions as they gear up for the new season.
