Let Us Forgive Each Other – Junet Tells President Ruto

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed on Saturday apologized to President William Ruto following his controversial remarks during the campaign period.

The National Assembly Minority Leader expressed remorse over his pre-election sentiments during Cooperatives Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya’s homecoming party attended by Ruto in Butere, Kakamega County.

“Mr. president, let us forgive each other. I said a lot of things during the 2022 general elections and you and your people said many things about Raila Odinga. You called him (Raila) ‘kitendawili’ and it forced me to hit back. So from today on, let us forgive each other,” Junet remarked.

During the event, the National Assembly Minority Leader expressed satisfaction with President Ruto’s move to form a broad-based government.

However, he claimed that the ODM party was still the minority party and reiterated that it had not formed a coalition with the ruling UDA party.

“Some people are saying that there is no minority in parliament. We are the minority in parliament. We will do our work comprehensively and make sure the government works in line with the constitution.

“We will do representation oversight and legislation. And that’s the the democracy of Kenya. If some of our members have joined the government, us who remained must do our work. We don’t have a coalition with UDA,” Junet expalined.
