The 63rd Grammy Awards is set to take place on January 31st. Lil Wayne expressed his disappointment saying that he felt snubbed
“As an artist when I see the Grammy’s coming up and am not involved or invited I wonder, is it me, my music or just another technicality? I look around with respect and wonder competitively Am I not worthy? Then I look back and I see five Grammy’s looking back at me and I go to the studio.”

Drake also went on to publicly disagree with lack of recognition of The Weekend’s album After Hours which was eligible for consideration. He then went on and wrote on his Instagram:
“I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after .
It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix but they just can’t change their ways he then suggested that now would be a great time for someone to start up something new that we can build over time and pass on to the next generations to come .”
The Weekend then tweeted: “the Grammys remain corrupt .you owe me, my fans and the industry transparency .”
