Senator Mithika Linturi of Meru has chosen Linda Gakii Kiome of Meru as his running mate in the upcoming 2022 General Elections.
Mithika, who is running for Meru Governor on the UDA ticket, has endorsed Linda Kiome as his running mate, claiming that she is the best candidate because she is young and energetic.
Mithika explained that he chose Linda Kiome as his running mate because he wants to include all Meru Community sub-tribes in his government if elected, noting that he (Mithika) is from the Igembe region, while Linda Kiome is from North Imenti, and that Mp Kathuri Murungi, who is running for Meru Senator on the UDA party ticket, is from the South Imenti.
Mithika promised that if he becomes the next Governor, the Tigania sub-tribe will benefit from the County Secretary position, bringing inclusivity under his leadership.
Linda Kiome thanked Mithika Lenturi for choosing her as his running mate during the Sunday event, promising to support him in any way she can to ensure that they win the upcoming general elections.
She promised the Meru people that if they won the top leadership position in Meru County, she would serve them diligently and without bias.
South Mp Imenti Kathuri Murungi, who is running for the Meru Senatorial seat on the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket, thanked Linda Kiome for being chosen as his running mate, saying that this was a clear picture of the leadership Meru people want.
