Litein Boys High School Closed Indefinitely After Student Unrest

The Litein Boys High School in Bureti, Kericho County, has been closed indefinitely after students staged protests on Sunday night.

According to a school official who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the students went on a rampage for unknown reasons.

The students caused damage to several school properties, including window panes, biometric systems, and vehicles.

Police officers from Litein police station were dispatched to quell the riots.

The officers fired in the air to scare away the boys who tried to engage them.

The school administration is currently engrossed in a crisis meeting with the Board of Management and is yet to issue a statement.
