The expansion of the Nairobi Eastern Bypass is set to catalyse the already bubbly eastern bypass.

The stretch, from Ruiru to its termination at Pipeline has led to the spring up of businesses that benefit from cheap lands.

The critical infrastructure footprint laid down by his predecessor Mwai Kibaki, was plagued with ballooning traffic as more residents sought property in the outskirts.

The 28-kilometre road dualling is set to be completed in November 2021 and will benefit satellite towns and estates.

Kamakis, a popular entertainment spot located a few kilometres from Thika Road is one that will benefit from the expansion.

Every weekend, hundreds of Nairobi residents throng the location leading to an increase in traffic.

Samuel Njoroge, a butcher located along the busy road said the project has quadrupled his profits.

“Since this road was built, We have seen a surge in traffic and specifically on our businesses. We want to urge the government, and KeNHA to hasten the construction So as to make this place accessible to locals.” He remarked

Njoroge is optimistic that the new infrastructure will improve movement for businesses and alleviate perennial traffic jams.

The Eastern Bypass tops in vindicating the nexus between good roads and the economic growth of benefiting areas.
