Kenya Forest Service has made several arrests of culprits found dumping waste at Oloolua forest station in Kajiado County.
Two other suspects have also been arrested for dumping at the same forest along the junction connecting Gataka and Olkeria Road.
“Today, a lorry Reg No: KCC 620W was impounded for transporting and dumping waste at Oloolua forest. On noticing KFS officers, the truck driver and co-driver escaped arrest but the owner of the lorry presented himself and surrendered the lorry at Ngong Police Station where it was booked vide OB NO 34/8/7/2021.” Kenya Forest Service shared in a social media post.
The Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Julius Kamau has noted that forest ecosystems continue to face diverse threats, mostly human caused.
He has urged all members of the public to be vigilant and report any cases of forest illegalities at the nearest Forest Station, Police or security agencies.
