A 21-year-old house help in Kiembeni, Mombasa County has been sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling a four-year-old boy and filming the incident, then sharing the videos on the internet.
Edda Wakesho is said to have filmed herself engaging in the act with the minor and later posted it online for financial gain.
The court heard that Wakesho was part of a child pornography cartel involving rogue house helps to film themselves defiling their bosses’ children.
Appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Florence Macharia, Wakesho pleaded guilty and was handed a life sentence for defiling the boy and a further 10 years for filming the act.
The lady told the court that she was introduced to the trade via a Facebook friend who led her to a page on the platform where people share the videos in exchange for money.
She also added that she received death threats if she failed to cooperate with the man’s directives.
The minor’s mother told the court that later on after the maid had quit her job, she received the videos of her son from a strange number, threatening to share them online if the family did not send money.
