Major Healthcare Boost as Kiambu Plans to Open 32 Hospitals by Year-End

Kiambu County is close to completing the construction of 32 new hospitals, with operations scheduled to begin by December 2025.

The ambitious healthcare project is valued at KSh2.6 billion.

Governor Kimani Wamatangi confirmed that the hospitals, which are being built across various sub-counties, are almost ready and currently await the installation of medical equipment.

While inspecting ongoing works in Kabete, Kikuyu, and Limuru sub-counties, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to delivering quality healthcare infrastructure on time. He pointed to significant strides made since taking office.

The new facilities, which include both Level Three and Level Four hospitals, are designed to ease the burden on existing health centres and improve access to medical services, particularly in underserved areas.

This initiative represents one of the most extensive healthcare infrastructure developments in the region and is expected to positively impact thousands of Kiambu residents.
