Makueni County government has launched a contracting data portal where every member of the public can access information in regards to county tenders and procurement plans of each financial year.
The portal shows all the tenders for each financial year for each department in the county. It also provides key information about procurement processes.
The public will also be able to provide feedback about a specific tender and they will be able to sign up to receive alerts for selected departments and tender processes.
Companies who win the tenders are also indicated together with the amount of the money and the company’s efficiency.
The portal also provides the total number of tenders that have been contracted the amount and the date.
This move might be the new way to go especially at this time when transparency is key in the public sector.
This will also provide more power to public oversight and opportunity for everyone to do business with the county.
