A man has been charged at the Milimani Law Courts for allegedly defrauding a fellow Kenyan of over Ksh.4.1 million in a fraudulent luxury car sale.
The accused, identified as Robert Bundi Mugaa, is alleged to have tricked Brandon Njoroge Ng’ang’a into parting with the hefty sum by falsely claiming he could sell him a red Mercedes Benz E350.
According to the charge sheet presented in court, the incident occurred between March 20 and March 21, 2025, at an undisclosed location within the country.
“On diverse dates between 20th March 2025 and 21st March 2025, at an unknown location within the Republic of Kenya, by means of a fraudulent trick, you induced Brandon Njoroge Ng’ang’a to pay Ksh.4,100,000 by falsely pretending that you could sell him a motor vehicle, registration number KDS 724T, make Mercedes Benz E350, red in colour,” the charge sheet reads.
Mugaa denied the charges when he appeared before the court on Friday.
The prosecution did not oppose bail but requested stringent terms to ensure the accused’s attendance in court, citing the substantial amount of money involved in the alleged fraud.
The court is expected to rule on the bail terms in the coming days as the case proceeds.
