A middle-aged man was on Thursday arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi for allegedly withholding funds that were mistakenly sent to his M-Pesa account.
Isaac Atinda Oremo appeared before Magistrate Robinson Ondieki to face charges related to the incident.
According to the prosecution, Oremo is accused of deliberately retaining Ksh 137,000 that was erroneously transferred to his mobile money account on August 4, 2023—funds which, they stated, were not rightfully his.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted release on a cash bail of Ksh 50,000.
