A 26-year-old man was on Saturday, August 16, 2025, arrested in Ruaka, Kiambu County, after police recovered a pistol believed to have been used in a wave of violent robberies in the area.
The suspect was nabbed in Mifereji during an intelligence-driven operation following reports of robberies in Rweno and Kiambaa.
Upon questioning, the man led officers to his home, where a Retay Falcon pistol concealed inside a chicken shed was recovered. The firearm had no ammunition and has been secured as an exhibit.
Police confirmed the suspect is in custody pending further investigations, and he will be arraigned once the probe is complete.
