A suspect in the December 17 murder of an ex-military man in Bondeni, Mombasa was apprehended in Juja Town, Kiambu County.
Abdulmajid Nagib Abdalla, 28, was detained after he went missing for days following his father’s death, according to police.
Detectives from Mombasa were looking for him when his father was discovered in a sack in Bondeni.
Nagis Abdalah Fateh, a 69-year-old Kenyan who served in the UAE military, went missing after his family made a statement, prompting authorities to investigate.
Long after the elderly man’s murder, police discovered his body parts stashed in a sack.
Neighbours stated they were alarmed by a bad odour coming from the toilet, prompting them to investigate, only to find the body in the sack after police came.
The murderer’s motive has yet to be discovered. According to the police and Abdulmajid’s family, Abdulmajid had been living with his father without incident for a long time.
